In July, the Aveiro Port was stage of war material intense movement. It was all about the occurrence in Ovar, of the 2012 HOT BLADE, a Multinational Helicopter Exercise, part of the European Defense Agency Helicopters Training Program (HTP). German and Dutch forces chose the Aveiro Port to unload more than 600 ton of war material, including trucks and two helicopters.

 



BRAZIL-PORTUGAL COOPERATION

The President of Aveiro Port Administration S/A (APA), José Luís Cacho and the Superintendent of Itajaí Port, Antonio Ayres dos Santos Júnior, signed in 14th of June of 2012, on APA headquarters, an “International Agreement of Maritime Ports Brotherhood”.



Between the 16th and 18th of April took place a board of a “CP Carga” train, along the Bobadela – Sines – Setúbal –Aveiro – Bobadela route, a LIFE RAIL Course of Maritime-Railroad Intermodality.



The Aveiro Port and the owner company of the renewed “Santa Maria Manuela” lugger signed a protocol aimed at future collaboration between the two entities.
Belonging to the Portuguese White Fleet, the renewed “Santa Maria Manuela” lugger is a live symbol of a mythic period of the codfish fishing, of inestimable historical and cultural value, was returned to the national and regional identity patrimony by the Pascoal & Filhos, S.A. company that, in the year of 2010, finished the project of recovering and exploration of the ship.



AVEIRO PORT WITH WEEKLY CONNECTION TO SPAIN

On the 13th of March of 2012 took place the first stop in Cacia of the Iberian Link. This railway service began to regularly connect the Aveiro Port to Madrid, Saragoça, Valência, Tarragona, and Barcelona.



TO DEVELOP COMPETITIVELY

The Minister of Economy has reaffirmed at the University of Aveiro the Government´s commit in betting in a merchandize trail between the Port of Aveiro and Spain. Álvaro Santos Pereira has explained the importance of the project while taking place and the closure of the conference "Learning to grow with the crisis" that occurred last Tuesday.
