CENCYL Project

The project extends to the entire territory of Central Region (NUT II exceptional situation as set out in the second round of POCTEP) and the provinces of Salamanca and Valladolid (and adjacent) of the region of Castile and Leon. As an intangible nature project (technical studies, territorial marketing plans, seminars, publications ..) holds the spirit of such exceptional situation.

The territory of these two regions is crossed by major transport infrastructure, road and rail-generating union between Portugal and Europe and between the north and northwest of the peninsula (North of Portugal, Galicia, Cantabria, Asturias, Basque Country ) and the Iberian capital Lisbon and Madrid.

These transport infrastructure further ensure coordination between the most dynamic areas of the two regions: the coast of the Central Region (Aveiro, Coimbra, Viseu and Leiria) and the main cities of Castile and Leon (Salamanca, Valladolid, Burgos and Leon). Based on these realities in both regions are part of a strategic position in transport infrastructure internationally, duly recognized at European level through integration into the Trans-European Transport Network (Multimodal axis Portugal / Spain - Europe) and concretized in the "Corridor Irún Portugal" space that relies on the cooperation strategy "MIT - Mobility, Innovation and Territory," cooperation flagship Central Castilla y León.
